The people I meet

Hey guys, come and meet Deryl.  This girl sizzles and smoulders on camera and is a lot of fun to do a shoot with.  She was looking after a naughty dog called Bailey on the day of our shoot and let's just say I now totally understand why they say never work with animals or children.   

P.s. I think it's safe to say Deryl's worst date has gone straight to number one in the worst date charts...

What is inspiring you right now?  |  Yoga, exploring new beaches, camping, my laden apple tree, finding pubs with good pool tables, writing poetry, making up silly songs and cycling everywhere. 

What is your ideal Saturday Night? |  A few beers, a game of pool and seeing a new rock/indie band in a small London venue.

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  The worst would have to be vomiting whilst being given a massage (he'd cooked me chicken and rice on date number 3). 

And the best?  |  The best would have to be the most recent with a new lovely man where we did all the things that make up my ideal Saturday night, as per above, and discovered we have the same taste in music (although he beat me at pool).

Where are you favourite places to go in London?  |   I like the Barbican, Sadlers Wells, Lloyd Park (Walthamstow), Epping Forest, the canal from Victoria Park to Islington, the Southbank, 12 Bar Club, Dublin Castle and Monarch pubs in Camden.

The people I meet

I met Stephen through my cool friend Clive.  Any friend of Clive's has got to be OK, right?  He sure is.  Stephen is one of the good guys and a very cool film-maker.  I love hanging out with other creatives.  We did a shoot round the Barbican and the photo directly above is my favourite photo so far of 2013.  I think it's the gritty, edginess that does it for me.  It's very raw and masculine which makes a nice change from a lot of my work.

What is inspiring you right now?  |  The sunshine

What is your ideal Saturday Night? |  It wasn't really a Saturday night more like an afternoon but the most recent fun Saturday I had was indoor karting a few weeks ago with friends for a birthday, it was awesome.....

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  I can't really recall ha! 

And the best?  |  The best date I've been on was at a place on the King's Road.  She'd arranged it so that at the time we would be the only people in the restaurant - we had the staff's undivided attention.  The gesture was unforgettable ;)

Where are you favourite places to go in London?  |   I like Victoria Park, the Regent's Canal, Shoreditch... to name a few

I met Cath through a very good friend of mine and am pleased to say that I now think of her as one of my very good friends.  I like it when life pans out like that.  We headed to balmy West London to take these summery shots.  Holla if you like them.

What is inspiring you right now?  |  My job inspires me every day with all the different, amazing, passionate people I get to meet. 

What is your ideal Saturday Night? |  My ideal Saturday night is with a small group of friends, some great food (sometimes cooked by me), wine and lots of laughter, jokes and silliness. 

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  I met a lawyer for an after work drink, I thought I looked quite glam.  I've never had such bad chemistry with someone and there was literally nothing to say.  He answered all my questions with one word answers, didn't even ask how I was and then he told me his colleagues had lent him some clothes to wear in his profile pics to help him look cool.   Say no more.....

And the best?  |  I am still waiting for one to call the best!

Where are you favourite places to go in London?  |   Nice bars in West London, walks on the Thames, shopping in Westfield, markets, Alfie's Antique Markets, Marylebone, new restaurants and anything gastronomic.

The people I meet

I was lucky enough to work with Sean a couple of weeks ago on a fashion shoot.  The brief was "rock 'n' roll, baby" and so I knew I had to be involved.  Sean is a great model to work with.  He knows his stuff, is easy going and fun to hang out with.  Can't ask for more than that.  I'm definitely going to be working with him again so watch this space.

What is inspiring you right now? | My work, my music, dancing and my girlfriend.  I am outgoing and hardworking.  I can't help being determined when I am doing everything I love.

What is your ideal Saturday night? | My ideal Saturday night is to go out with friends and dance really hard with my b-boys and b-girls.

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  My worst date would be with a girl who has a poor attention span, does not connect with me, has drastic differences in her opinions and is materialistic.

And your best? | A girl I met who is now my girlfriend.  We connected instantly and well, we laugh, we smile, we have loads in common, she's interesting, engaging and willing to try new things and have a laugh about it. 

Where are your favourite places to go in London? |  I love the South Bank, Trafalgar Square and walking around St James Park.

Today I want to introduce you to the very gorgeous Emma.  We did our shoot round the back of the Southbank and I learned a lot from this shoot, namely don't ask your clients to kneel near a dead badger type creature no matter how good the shot.  Sorry Emma, lesson learned! ;)

What is inspiring you right now? | Right now it is people who remain calm under pressure.  I’m trying to be more like that but sometimes I wish I was more poker player like when it comes to stressful situations.  That and the music of Tame Impala, which is utterly gorgeous.

What is your ideal Saturday night? | I’m going to sound very boring but going out for a nice meal – either with my other half or with friends.  Sitting down to dinner somewhere you don’t have to cook or wash up and the food is great.  It means you’ve got time to chat properly and enjoy other people’s company.  I used to like going dancing and still would, but who wants a 40+ person in a club?  Lol

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  My worst date was through a newspaper singles service.  The guy was pompous and kept correcting me.  So that was nice.

And your best? | I guess it has to be the first date I had with my current partner.  We went for lunch and were chatting for so long that other diners came and went and we were still in the restaurant.  When you click, you click!

Where are your favourite places to go in London? |  I like things to be easy to get to and tend to stay local – so I like to head to Exmouth Market on Saturday mornings.  It has lots of nice places to eat and interesting shops.  Brill is my favourite place for lunch on Saturday – coffee and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and a browse of the CDs on sale.  Clerkenwell Tales bookshop is always worth a browse too.

I found Simon really inspiring as he told me all about his work supporting the next generation of football players.  He also takes a great photo!  I love his pictures, as for me they have a real timeless quality.

What is inspiring you right now? | I’m busy all summer working on projects that will help the next generation of young aspiring football players gain the level of fitness that will allow their talent to shine through for longer.  I’m also preparing for my role as a sport scientist at a professional football club.

What is your ideal Saturday night? | My ideal Saturday night would have to involve eating ha!  I have the biggest appetite so whether that be me cooking my special jerk fire dish at home or just going out to eat before enjoying a little nightlife would be cool

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  My worst date would have to be when I was in my teens with a very pretty lady that didn't understand English, (or my English at least lol) cinema paid for, meal paid for, drinks paid for and a lot of awkward silence in between, dating a lady a day after meeting in a club with loud music isn't that wise. Enough said!

And your best? | And well my best date is yet to come, I think ha!

Where are your favourite places to go in London? |  If I'm not on a football pitch or playing ball in a park with friends then you may just find me in Shoreditch. So much diversity and culture around to embrace, a variety of different events and shows to match whatever mood your in. It's just such a vibrant place to be and I love it!

The people I meet

People often ask me about who the people are on my blog and so today I'd like to introduce you to Michaele.  We recently enjoyed a brilliant shoot together, taking to the streets of Dalston armed with a huge bag of props and a great summery vibe.  We ended up in Stoke Newington's cemetery just in time for the Golden Hour (that gorgeous time of night that us photographers love when the sun goes down).

What is inspiring you right now?  |  I'm loving this weather, I am definitely meant to live somewhere warm!  So the sun is inspiring me to get out in the garden and grow vegetables again.  It's also great to have friends over for BBQs.  It's making me want to get out there and go on dates that involve drinking chilled wine in the sun.

What is your ideal Saturday Night? |  Dinner with friends - lots of great food, wine and laughter.  Then maybe jump in a cab and dance the night away at a club. 

What is the worst date you've ever been on?  |  Too many worst dates to mention!  But probably when he spent most of his time on his Blackberry and I made the fatal error of being nice and buying him a drink in return thus prolonging the agony.  I'm much more ruthless now!

And the best?  |  The best dates are the ones where you just feel comfortable straightaway and if you're lucky you get a kiss at the end of the night. 

Where are you favourite places to go in London?  |   Well I love Hackney, it's where I've always lived.  I was here well before the hipsters moved in!  So I love all the new bars and restaurants opening up but also like that I know everyone on my street.  I'm not going to tell you the best bits though as then everyone will turn up LOL.
